Gwen Caldwell For
nearly 20 years Gwen has enjoyed sharing stories with groups of
all ages at
schools, churches, bookstores, conferences, festivals, and
retreats throughout the country. Often using music and audience
participation, she enlivens stories from around the world as well as
telling original and personal stories. Much of her work is with
children and teens but she also enjoys sharing the joy of stories with
adults. Gwen has created a series of adult programs entitles
"Stories for the Second Half of Life," and has recorded a CD of
personal stories called, "The Lime Green Truck and Other Stories of
Remembrance."
Gwen has
taught in both public and private schools, adult literacy programs, and
in her own piano studio. These experiences enable her to create
and
teach meaningful storytelling workshops to a variety of groups
Gwen founded the North Forty Storytellers' Guild.
She is also a member of Tejas Storytelling Association and was
once again selected as a touring artist on the roster for the Texas
Commission on the Arts.

Steve McCluer
If
you think stories are childish or only for sharing with children, you
have obviously never seen and heard storytelling done well... and it's
time you did. Steve entertains audiences young and old. He
began telling stories at schools when his
children were in kindergarten. Years after his kids have grown and
moved away Steve is still entertaining audiences from preschools to
retirement. At event such as the Tejas Festival, at family
celebrations, at social events, to children in a classroom, or to
teachers in a seminar, Steve weaves stories that can make you laugh,
make you cry, and
make you think. Steve can tell stories around a theme or just for good
ol' times. Steve is also a member of the Tejas Storytelling Association and

Maryann Clarke
"There is little that can nurture the soul more than a
good story told by a great storyteller." These words sum up the lure of
storytelling for Maryann, who has been a professional storylistener and
sometime storyteller since 1996. She tells to adult audiences and
typically draws from the rich mine of folklore. Storytelling venues
have included Old City Park at their July Fourth and Christmas
Candlelight celebrations, the Bath House Cultural Center in Dallas, and
guild meetings open to the public at Barnes & Noble, among others.

Ann Marie Newman
Ann Marie Newman is a high-energy storyteller with a performing arts
background. She has been enthusiastically telling tales to
listeners of all ages for over 13 years. Ann's use of character
voices, facial expressions, body language, sound effects and audience
interaction will draw you right into her diverse collection of tales.
Ann Marie has entertained audiences at community
events, art museums, storytelling festivals, libraries, schools,
churches and various other venues in Florida and Texas. As
an experimental and multi-media artist, Ann Marie's visual art
reflects her love of stories. It is not unusual to find
words, quotes, or poems that speak directly to you.. Says Ann, "I
love to awaken my listeners to the imaginative and delightful
world of stories. I hope I can inspire them to
explore their own creative potential while I'm at it."

Genie Hammel
Accompanied by her puppets and autoharp,
“The Magic Genie” brings the delight and magic of stories
to audiences of all ages. As a children’s librarian for twenty
years, Genie had the ideal audience and plenty of resources to hone her
energetic and interactive style of storytelling. She loves to tell
folktales, stories that make you laugh, and stories that find a resting
place in the hearts of her audience. Genie has told stories at many
venues, including the Texas Storytelling Festival, the Dallas Museum of
Art, various public and school libraries, The Blackland Prairie
Festival, and the TX Tales Festival. Her weekly stories at the Plano
Interurban Museum invite the children to “climb aboard” the
story train!

Betsy Mosier
Betsy
has been hooked on stories and storytelling for the last 15
years. She loves to tell tales that reinforce the best in all of
us and just maybe tickle your funny bone at the same time !
As a member of the South Coast Storytellers Guild in Southern
California, Betsy has told stories at book stores, charity events,
church suppers, schools and camps, women's retreats and
holiday parties. She also taught storytelling to
elementary school students for 7 years, After moving to
Texas in 2007 , she became a member of the North 40
guild and has entertained audiences at Tellabration and holiday
events.
